Droitwich Spa, The Old Cock Inn c.1910

More about this scene
Droitwich developed as a spa in the early 19th century thanks to John Corbett, a local businessman, who opened the St Andrews Brine Baths in the town for visitors, and built a magnificent French-style chateau just outside for himself. Not everyone drank the waters. The sign here says 'The Old Cock Inn, by Walter Harrison, licensed in the tenth year of the reign of Queen Anne. Retailer of foreign Wines and Spirits'.
