This view, little changed today, looks up Fore Street to Bank Square and All Saints' Church. To the left of the tower stands the Belfry Tree, a huge sycamore which blew down in a gale a decade after this picture was taken.

My first visit to Dulverton was on a cold and wet Easter Sunday 1984, and I absolutely fell in love with the place! Husband and I warmed ourselves with a mug of hot chocolate in a little café, possibly where the St Margaret's Hospice is now.
