More about this scene

Full of quaint old Georgian houses and historic buildings, Arundel has long been an obvious destination for tourists and visitors. The great battlemented castle can be seen standing guard over the town; there has been a fortification on this site since the 11th century, though most of the present castle is Victorian. In the foreground is the bridge over the fast-flowing Arun.
