Dunfermline Was Where My Grandfather Was Born And Raised.

A Memory of Dunfermline.

My Grandfather, Robert Keir Armour, left Scotland to go to America about the year 1891. His home was 20 High Street, Dunfermline. His father was Alexander Armour who owned a carting business. His mother was Janet Keir. Her father was Robert Keir who worked for the Dunfermline Gas Works for 36 years. Robert Keir Armour was among ten children born to Alexander and Janet Armour. Robert was the only one who came to America. He had made another steamship trip back and forth to Dunfermline before he married my Grandmother Ida May Anderson in 1898 in Richmond, Virginia. My Mother, Iris Keir Armour, was their 4th child of 5. You may see the family names carried forward, our connection to Scotland and Dunfermline.
