A famous resident of Ealing was Sarah Trimmer, a friend of Dr Johnson, and writer of children's versions of the Scriptures. Sarah Trimmer was much loved by her contemporaries for her dedication to the education of the poor. She died in 1810, and lies buried in the parish church.
