I was at Hamilton house school ,Ealing from 1952 to 1960. My teachers were Mr Taylor, Mr Roll, Mr Benbridge, Mr Hooker and Miss Bunbury as well as the Headmaster, Mr Phillips.
I was in touch with Mr Taylor for many years after leaving. He retired to Faversham, Kent where he died in 2000.
I would like to know why the school closed, it's now a nursery school?
Who was in my class? Robert Floyd, Alastair Brown, Peter Wakeham, Roger Toulson, et al.

I was at Hamilton House from 1961 until 1966. My brother also went. Taylor, Roll, Benbridge were still there, and Miss Hardboard (yes, really) looked after the 2nd form. There was difficulty between some parents (including my father) and the headmaster Mr.Phillips, who was thought to be too hard and demanding and over zealous in his use of the strap. My brother was terrified of him.
I was at HH in the 60s before going on to boarding school in 1969. I remember Mr Phillips, the Headmaster with his Rover registration 449 BLO. Mr Taylor, Mr Rolls (who hated me because I was an imbercile at maths) who used a metal ruler to punish us and dear Mr taylor. Miss Harboard (note not Hardboard). Mr Peckett - related to the firm of locomotive builders. The school gave me a good grounding to face adult life.

I was at HH from (I think)1955 until definitely 1963 common entrance and then I went to Habs in Elstree and we moved - I used to live in Rutland Gardens and get the 65 bus to Ealing Broadway and walk to HH in Florence Road - lunch at the ABC - I remember Phillips, his strap, his click fingers and his Rover 90 - also Taylor for maths and Benbridge - the long walk for lunch near Castlebar and football in Gunnersbury Park as well as swimming in the pool near the town hall - used to take the train from EB to Paddington and train spot at the end of the platform
Hello Philip. You and I were at HH together from 1955-1963. I remember yourself and David Vanstone well. I enjoyed my time there, but when I went to Epsom the wheels fell off. That was totally horrific.
Anyway, I managed to get out of that hell hole and did Engineering, from which I just retired after 50 years. I live in Canada
Robert Floyd and I used to walk together in the crocodile from Florence Rd to the dinner place. He was really weird, which impressed me no end. Every time we halted at a cross Rd, Mr Taylor would yell `Forward' and Floyd would yell `Ho' and act if he was riding a horse. Used to drive Mr Jocelyn up the wall.
There was an elderly woman who used to hang around the small green, near the dinner place, completely off her trolly. The boys would wind her up like a clock, but Mr Taylor always took off his hat when passing and we were expected to do the same.
Mr Hooker. Always used a pencil which he snapped in half, then sharpened them with a penknife. I was terrified of him. Good at French and Latin though. Totally professional.
I was at HH between 1965 to 1969. Dear Mr Taylor. He use to live in West Acton very near the tube station with his sister who was also the music teacher. Mr Peckitt, he lived at the end of Florence road, then we had Mr Bower who was our English teacher. All our sports were at Ealing cricket club in Crofton road. I still have a couple of school photographs we all had taken on a yearly basis. Some people’s names I can still remember. It would be nice to hear from some of guys who were there at that time. I was at Hamilton House from 1963-4, after which we moved to Northwood. I have distinct memories of Miss Harboard - a very kind and sweet lady. I'm not sure if it was a nickname, or if it was just me, but I told my parents my teacher was called Miss Cardboard! I also have vague memories of Mr. Taylor, and the threat of "the strap" from Mr. Phillips, though I never endured it.
I was at HH from 1979 to 82 when I moved to Kingston GS (a much longer journey on the 65)
I remember Mr Taylor (Maths) , Wiseman (History) , Arthur (Geo) and Mr Stollar who became an acting head. Have many cherished memories of the above though not necessary my peers only 1 of whom I'm still in contact with.
Michael, are you related to Bary Magarian who was there at the same time as me?
What happened to the school after1982? Did it morph into Clifton Lodge?
I was there from 1966 to 1968. I remember Mr Taylor - a truly gifted teacher - and Mr Phillips - and his rover. I remember Mr. Phillips being so happy when we beat (forgot name of the school) at cricket (1967?). The only school names I remember are Julian who went on to Westminster.
Anyone remember me?

I used to go to Hamilton House .. Mr Stollar was my class Teacher and I remember Mr Arthur.. both of them were a couple of racist clowns ....... I think these teachers were paedophiles I mean who beats a child as much as they did me ... and I think the Head was Mr Karnege or something like that
I was at Hamilton House 1970-1972. Teachers were Miss Burrows, Mr Waldron,Mr Arthur, Mr Taylor, and HeadMasterwas Mr Phiilips. Mr Taylor was the best teacher that I ever had. I remember that all of a sudden he would call out " you haven't changed your shoes " and having to explain that I had. Mr Phillips was I felt a bit too liberal with his use of the strap. I never got it but came very close to protesting when several boys were strapped as they were unable to speak French in his Class. Oddly enough he was totally different when teaching Science class and was not at all threatening. The crocodile walk to the Boulevard restaurant at Haven Green was memorable as was the very good food. I was sorry to hear that Mr Taylor died in 2000 he was an excellent Maths teacher but i did not enjoy his history lessons much (1066-1087) He always gave me a good mark and I remember my particular pride in coming first in class for geometry beating an extremely intelligent boy called Maynard. I always wanted to operate the school buzzer but was never picked for it. Being able to eat packed lunch on the terrace was a real privilege afforded only to well behaved boys of which I was one. I left the school in 1972 and was put into a state school which I hated due to the lack of discipline compared to HH. Others in my class were Lucas Pangolas, Tim Morrel,l Tim Whybrow, Paul Marcel Rogers, Christopher Sharp, Mark Sayers and Michael Ingram to name a few. As we were only known by our surnames ( which took some getting used to) the other names are in my distant memory. I returned to the School a few years ago when I retired from work and found it to be a Nursery school called Montessori. The honours board was still there but i was not allowed in to see my old classroom as classes were on but may return one day when time permits. I made contact with Hugh Richards through my work but otherwise have had no other contact with anyone from HH. A very good school and enjoyable times although a little scary due to the threat of the strap.
Re-reading the comments of others I think I have made a slight memory error. Being assulted by Mr.Rolls was probably in a maths class and not latin. I rember defacing my Latin reader to read 'First steps in eating rotten fish' which probably got me into more trouble. I suddenly have a vague memory of Mr. Benbridge, a tall, lanky slightly withdrawn type of a man. Also, presumably once a year, a hobby competition in the attic of which I only remember the Mecano constructions. One thing is certain, my time at HH served only to further my fight against authoritarian bullies, Father, teachers etc. and I later learnt how to fight ay Secondary School and Boarding school.
This has started something. I seem to rember being at school with a youg man of Turkish origin who lived up my way on the Haymills Estate. Tsurgis ?????? I rember him always smelling of garlic which was unknown in my family home !!
Graham, Canada, the olny place to be. I have Canadian connections. Acton Ontario. Funny old world.
If anyone wants to get in touch....pauldavenport49@gmail.com
I went there in the early 80s, I want to say 1982/83? I remember Mr Stoller, I used to babysit for his kids and as a 14/15 year old it felt uncomfortable in his house but I don't know why. I think Stoller was deputy head and head was a woman but can't remember her name? I remember playing marbles out the back at break time and the old wooden desks. We had to read a book and pick out words we didn't know, memories what they meant and spell them, all standing out at the front of the class and we all hated it!
Jolie Collins daughter of a certain very famous drummer was also here at the same time and we used to hang out with each other quite a bit. Nobody clicked who her Dad was, apart from me and I was sworn to secrecy
