More about this scene

Easington is not far from the Spurn peninsula. All Saints' Church, built on a mound, was consecrated in 1190, and contains three bells, one of which weighs a ton. The Norman doorway may have been saved from Burstall Priory in nearby Skeffling to the west. Other remains have come from churches in the lost villages of Ravenser, Old Kilnsea and Ravenser Odd. A windmill for grinding corn was here from 1260 to the mid 1920s - the old millstone remains beside Blacksmith's Corner. Also gone is the Overton family's 17th-century Easington Hall, demolished in 1887.

Lived in Easington in Turmarr Villas with my two children Julie and Tracie. Had friends, Diane Clubley and her sister Carol. Still have friends there Mary and Geoff Brisby. Loved it there, does anyone remember us? Now live in Spain but would love to visit one day.

I went to the local school and I think my teacher was called Miss Skelton. I remember the awfull air raids, the night before we left for our other posting to Wales there was a terrible one, we were all sleeping at the local pub and my sister and I were so scared. ...see more
