Erith, High Street 1953

More about this scene
The climax of the High Street is the 1892 Cross Keys pub building in the centre of the photograph. To the right is the tall White Hart, completed in 1902. Today the Locomotive on the left, along with most of the street, has gone. The narrow turning on the right is now the wide Wharfeside Close leading to the pier.
