A Memory of Exmouth.

My distant relative Arthur Darke, was the manager of this bank in 1901, he lived above the 'shop' on the Strand. His son Hugh appears on the War Memorial in the gardens opposite the bank.

My Grandmother must have worked for your relative Mr Darke, Mary Berry was a cook for the family at the Bank, the nearest date I would have would be 1910 -1913., as that was when she left Devon to get married in Australia, Grandfather had left 2 years prior to Mary to save up for a house, they went to live in Uranquinty, in New South Wales.
