Faringdon, London Street c.1960

More about this scene
The architecture of London Street has changed very little since this photograph was taken. I wonder how many people purchasing gummed envelopes in W H Smith & Son Ltd realise that this type of stationery was invented in Faringdon in the 19th century. Today a branch of Blockbuster Video occupies the site.
