Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

South Street, extending over the River Wey Navigation to the station, did not exist until after the arrival of the railway in the town in 1848-1849. This new road was constructed in 1868 off The Borough at a cost of £2312 10s. Peeping shyly alongside the square church tower (centre) is the cupola of the neo-Georgian Liberal Club, designed and built in 1895 by Sir Edwin Lutyens at the precocious age of twenty-one.

Farnham 1945 To 1965
So many memories of Farnham. Although I was born in Aldershot much of our shopping was done in Farnham. I recall the joys of the Christmas card display in a basement below the stationers that was under the colonnade. My first dancing class was held in the practice room of the Castle theatre - always we liked to dance to the Skaters waltz. Farnham Outdoor Swimming Pool
I was drafted from Cranleigh swimming pool in 1971 when the operation of the pool was taken over by Waverly Council. The pool was quite run down and in the winter of 1971 Waverly Council managed to allocate funds to refurb the pools. Born In Farnham
I was born in Farnham, actually Lavender Cottage, Rowledge, a nursing home I believe, in 1944 and my family lived at Thorndhu (now no. 8 I think) Broomleaf Road backing onto the railway line. My mother and brother lived there during the Second World War and an air raid shelter was built in the back garden. I now live in Montreal, Canada. Happiness
I was born in Frensham, but moved to Farnham when aged about 5 yrs. My father was a master Taylor (Lee) & had his business at No.15 Downing Street, as did his father before him - it is now an Estate Agents. I went to St Polycarps school, then Elmsleigh, the later situated near Farnham station. Following schooling I went into nursing, obtaining my SRN & RSCN qualifications. Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
