A Memory of Filey.

When this photo was taken my grandfather Horace Smart was running this shop. I was living in the flat above the shop with my parents and brother Ralph. We enjoyed living here and having the whole of the valley to play in, in the winter when only the residents lived here when all the tourists had gone home.

I know it's a long time since you posted this about the shop at Primrose Valley but I am hoping you see this. I lived next door to your grandparents Horace & Iris and was great friends with their son Tony. We played together all the time. We left Greencroft in 1952 after my father died but my mother kept in contact until Iris died.

This is amazing! Horace was my uncle and Iris the sister of my mother - she was my aunt!! We all lived in Milehaven house in Primrose Valley ( 4 Primrose Drive) with Tony and grandma Kitty!! The doctor lived next door with his two daughters - Bobby and ??? ( memory failure) sorry Dr Twigg!! They used to breed Scottish highland terroirs. Of course I knew Ralf, Rosemary, Mary ( mum) and dad Peter very well! Dad was Horaces’ son of course!! Please contact me if you get this! I live in France and have done for the past 22 years.
