The Open Air Swimming Pool Folkestone

I too remember the fabulous outdoor pool! And Ted! I was Folkestone Ladies Champion from 1964 up till 1966 and loved the pool! I was also the first girl to be selected for Kent and their training programme thanks to the fantastic Tommy Towse who was our trainer. We used to get up at 5.00 to go to Nonington College to train 3 times a week. On Tuesday was club night and training - in the winter was the Rock pool!

The worst thing anyone did was pour concrete into this great 50 metre pool instead of upgrading it and making it the centre of excellence for Kent swimming. All it needed was a roof and a someone with vision to do this not destroy it for a flipping Sunday market.
