Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

Not Such Fond Memories

A Memory of Frensham.

My sister and I were sent to this awful place in 1964 or 65 after our mother died I was 5 and my sister was 7 my memories a were not very nice as someone else has stated we had all our clothes taken away from us and had to wear plain shabby dual clothes, we were made to eat food we didn't like and could not leave the table until, everything was eaten even if this had taken us hours my sister and I were not aloud to play with each other even though we needed to be together due to loosing our mother and they knew we needed each other we had to sleep apart and when we did try to be together we were punished Tod to stand I corners of empty rooms separately, we Gould our father when we got back home and we never went there again so not little pond house was not a very nice place st all

I was sent there in the late 50's when my late mother was hospitalised with cancer. It was a very strange place with a selective discipline if they did nae like you it was evil, the beatings were fairly frequent and if ye said anything you were singled out for "extras". The food was probably the worst I have ever come across and I remeber being forced to drink sour milk " its good for you" and refusing to drink the crap I was forced to sit all day until it got dark and I could dispose of it without being seen. These days they would have been done for child abuse amongst other things, theft of money and clothing etc. When I was there there were some Austrian children/ refugies who did not speak english and they were treated quite badly. Even now I still wonder how they got away with it as when we complained to our parents the reply was children tell "fibs". I wonder how many other children were traumatised by that experience. D.
