More about this scene
This is a fine old Cambridgeshire smock mill with four patent shuttered sails and a fantail; it was built in 1808, and ceased work in 1937. The photograph shows the mill when it was disused and before restoration work began. Privately owned, and restored in complete but non-working condition, it is open to visitors two days a year, or by appointment.
