I moved with my family to 59 Chesilton rd in 1961 after living in Halford rd for 16 years. There was five of us plus mum and dad.Cars were a rarity in those days, probably three cars in whole rd.I started work as a trainee butcher in Gunners North end rd.Mrs Gunn ran the local newsagent,Mr and Mrs Brumbie ran the greengrocers. My best mate lived at 64 Micky Walsh.
I lived at 5 Chesilton road from 1953 when I was born till1970. There was mum and dad me and two older sisters. Christopher Cox and Chritopher Kelly were probably my best friends but there were many more kids down the street I played with. Go carting down the taxi alley, nicking paper from the basement of number 4 and smudge the little dog that always seemed to be there. One memory in particular was when the Tarmac was lifted to allow resurfacing the workmen left two big piles of it in the road, we had a great time hurling bits of Tarmac at each other from behind each pile. There were many cuts and bruises but we did enjoy ourselves.
Lived at no 47 with grandparents, went to All Saints School, brownies, guides. Happy memories of living in Fulham
