More about this scene

From Dyke Hills c1965. The Dyke Hills are the setting for the Devil's Dyke, a spectacular downland combe or cleft which, according to legend, was dug by the Devil in an attempt to flood the area with sea water and thus destroy the churches of the Weald. The Devil's Dyke is 300 feet deep and half a mile long.
