Gilfach Goch
A Memory of Gilfach Goch.
My grandfather Rev Williams was the vicar here in the 1920s and my father was born here at Glamorgan Terrace. Many years later my father Arthur Williams also became the vicar here and I was born in 1966. We moved to church village in December 1966. My father was friendly with Tommy Coughlin the undertaker. . I remember my godmother Doris Symmonds and her husband Tom, of 1 Glamorgan Terrace and spent many a happy hour on the mountain side looking at the pigeon coops there or sliding down the mountain on bits of carpet or cardboard..... life was so easy then.
We visited Clarice Hayman and Beryl Ham regularly too.
