Glenboig In The 1970s
A Memory of Glenboig.
I was brought up in Glenboig. We moved to England in 1973, however I have great memories. I remember going to the old St Joseph' School that sank, so we had to go to St Barbara's in Muirhead. I made my holy communion in the old chapel next to the old school. We stayed in the old pre-fabs and then went to live in Easdale Path. I can remember the gas houses being built. My twin brother and I had many friends in Glenboig. I get a lump in my throat every time I come back.

I have just been looking at Glenboig websites, as Glenboig will always be my home, despite the fact that I moved from there in 1984. I went to school with you and Kevin at St Barbara's, after a delayed start due to the subsidence, and then back to the new OL&StJ, then on to St Pats. I have lived away from Glenboig for so long, but it will always be my home. I remember you two like it was yesterday; you were very sporty, as was Kevin, but he suffered from Asthma. You both loved football and Kevin was the gentler of you twins, back then anyway; I bet you were the first born. You both were only mentioned in conversation a matter of months ago. So good to actually read that you are still on the planet (with the rest of us ex-pats). Hope you are happy and well.
