Park Farm Colliers Green

A Memory of Goudhurst.

In the late 50.s we lived at park farm Colliers Green. I had a sunday job working for"dinks" (that was his nickname) At the service station on the Cranbrook Road. I and my brother Roger went to Colliers Green primary. I latterly went to Bethany School. My father worked for if I remember Russell and son millers at Cranbrook Mill.Had good times in the early sixties in and around Goudhurst and Cranbrook. I wonder what happened to my first 'serious' flame Lindsay Mounter. I now have spent some while in rural Suffolk. Good memories though. Mike Frere

In the mid 60's"Dinks" used to pick us girls up from Kilndown to to go to Goudhurst to catch a bus to Tonbridge. He was not best pleased one day, when dropped back at the garage for the return journey, when one girl decided to show us others how to change gear in the Bedford Dormobile he used - the gear-stick, which was mounted on the steering, came off in her hand! That day we went home in a Humber Super Snipe.
