Urquharts At Grange Banffshire Scotland
A Memory of Grange.
Robert (Bob) and Margaret (Maggie) Urquhart left the Parish of Boharm for the Parish of Grange, about 1916. They possibly had more than one address in the Parish, according to what I have learned. The couple's last child Catherine (Kathleen) was born at Garrowood, Grange, 25 June, 1917. This unfortunate child died 31 January, 1918. She was buried in Grange churchyard. I have been told that the Urquharts occupied Sheils Croft, near Knock, during their time in the Parish of Grange. What I do not know is whether this address could be the same as Garrowood, or not? As for the Urquhart children's schooling, I had assumed that some of them would have attended Grange School, given that four of them were born betwen 1903 and 1911. However there is no record of any Urquhart-surnamed pupil on the School Register.

Accident to Schoolboy at Grange
On Monday afternoon at Grange , an accident happened to a boy Urquhart , son of Mr. Urquhart , Manager , Garrowood , belonging to Mr. John Geddes , Portknockie.
The lad was a pupil at Grange School.
It seems that the children had been tobogganing on a steep field adjacent to the school , and the sledge gathered considerable momentum on its passage down the slope , until it was intercepted by a gate post , and which dislodged the occupant .
The injured boy was taken to the Schoolhouse , and kindly attended to by Mrs. Burns until the arrival of Dr. Taylor from Keith.
On examination it was found that the pelvis had been severely injured , and Doctor Taylor considered it best to remove the patient to the Turner memorial Hospital , Keith , for treatment, which was done in the course of the afternoon.
