Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

MY MEMORY OF ALBERT WAS A FANTASTIC ONE IAM AN EX MUSICIAN FROM THE BAND OF THE CORPS OF ROYAL ENGINEERS CHATHAM AND HAD THE PLEASURE OF PLAYING WITH ALBERT CARD AT MANY VENUES FROM THE TOWN BAND TO DANCE JOBS AND HE WAS ALWAYS THE ULTIMATE GENTLEMAN AND ENCOURAGED YOUNG AND UP AND COMING MUSICIANS OF ALL AGES AND HE USED TO RUN THE JUNIOR TOWN BAND CLASSES ON SATURDAY MORNINGS AT THE ...see more

Albert Card
Hi Nita, I remember your uncle! My Dad was in both Northfleet and Gravesend bands and they regularly had 'socials'. Your uncle, Albert Card, was often the Master of Ceremonies (MC) at these 'do's'. He was a very smart, dapper man with a great personality. I was only a small girl, but he made a huge impression on me. He was in Gravesend Band and there is a cartoon of him on their website. Google 'Gravesend Borough Band' and look at the photos. Thank you for the lovely memory. Dee

Royal Clarendon Hotel Gravesend
My Uncle, Albert Card, had a dance band and used to play at the Royal Clarendon after WW2. My mother took me there to see him play. He was a very talented musician and had won the Nat Gonella Award for trumpet playing. Nita Jenkins

Genealogy & Research Images

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
