Great Yarmouth, The Market 1922

More about this scene
The market has always done brisk trade, but it is most renowned for seafood and chips. Most of the shops on the right have been demolished or modernised, and the double tram track (laid in 1913) is long gone. Another loss is the spire on St Nicholas's Church (background right); after the church was bombed out in June 1942, the funds could not stretch to a spire when it was rebuilt.
