More about this scene
The vast majority of day visitors to the island rarely strayed beyond Douglas and Onchan, but the opening of the first section of the Manx Electric Railway in September 1893 brought Groudle Glen within easy reach. Situated just two and a half miles from Douglas, the Glen is known as 'the Fern Land of Mona'.
