Guildford, Castle Grounds Fish Pond 1906

More about this scene
The Castle grounds include the 200-year old bowling green, and were laid out as a pleasure garden when Guildford Corporation bought the Castle in the 1880s. The three little Edwardian girls seem like a triple echo of 'Alice in Wonderland', whose creator, Lewis Carroll, spent many vacations with his sisters at Guildford and died here in 1898.
