More about this scene
Three young boys in the distinctive uniform of Christ's Hospital school at Horsham, accompanied by a lady, pass by the 16th- and 17th-century cottages which stood at the beginning of Farnham Road. These were demolished in 1957. The quartet had probably travelled to Guildford on the Horsham to Guildford Direct Railway, which had opened in 1865. The line was closed in Dr Beeching's drastic remodelling of Britain's railway network in 1965.
