Guisborough, Fox Inn, Bow Street c.1960

More about this scene
The Fox Inn dominates this view up Bow Street to the tall Market Cross, which we can just see at the head of Westgate in the distance. The newsagents and tobacconists shop – Robinsons, centre - displays the wealth of bold advertising material so typical of the period. This was the main road from Whitby to Teesside - how quiet it was on this occasion!
