Halstead, St Andrew's Church, High Street c.1955

More about this scene
Much of the church dates from the 14th century, but the old west tower fell down and was rebuilt in 1850; further restoration followed. Although the shops now have new proprietors, the upper parts of the buildings are unchanged. Towards the end of the row, a policeman stops to talk to a cyclist.
