Nick And Johanna's Wedding At St Stephen's
A Memory of Hampstead.
This magnificent brick built church must surely be the finest example of brick architecture in the country. My nephew, Nick Arbin, and his bride Johanna chose it as the venue for their wedding on June 2nd 2012.
It is an absolutely superb Grade 1 listed building that has been the subject of a restoration since its de-consecration. Some eighty or so guests attended the wedding conducted by the local Registrar and we spent the rest of the day with family and friends in St Stephen's and were in awe of the magnificent surroundings.
The trustees who have overseen the work to restore this building to community and commercial use have completed an amazing task and I would urge anyone with an interest in either architecture or Hampstead local history to pay a visit on one of the many open days - or indeed to enquire about using the church as a venue for a celebration.
