Lovely Memories Of Hanworth
A Memory of Hanworth.
I was born in 1945 in sunningdale ave, hanworth, started
infants national school in park road , then orial sec mod, then
Debrome in boundries road next to the girls school lafone
Hanworth has change quite a lot over the years
I remember at the top my road there was two shops job's dairy and Coombs bakery on each corner.
And opposite those shops was REX cinema which I use to go to on
Saturday matinee as a child.
Next to cinema there use to be cafe which use to have a juke box which
I use to use quite often.
There were a few shops I remember along that main road , where the REX cinema was , to the left there was a fish and chip shop called smiths,
a sweet shop and grocers ,and this was all before self service.
The nearest pub was called hope and anchor which I think is now a fast food outlet
I use to spend a lot of time playing football with my friends on hanworth air park.
When I was about 18 I played football for Woodlawn fc on hanworth air park which use to play in Hounslow and district premier league.
These are just a few lovely memories of hanworth I have growing up as a
Young child and teanager.
I met so many people in those early years as a child , it would be nice to speak to one or two of them to see how there life has worked out.
Thanks
