Growing Up In Harlow

A Memory of Harlow.

I was born in 1956 at number 63 Churchfields, close to the Old Town of Harlow. When I was 4 or 5 years old we moved to a Masonite in Mark Hall Moors, number 92. my first school was St. Albans near The stow and next to Our Lady Of Fatima Church. After my younger brother was born in 1963 we moved to 71 Hollyfields (Which was in the newest part of Harlow at the time.) and my older brother and I went to Jerounds school and then on to Stewards School. I left school in 1971 and when to Harlow Technical Collage to learn catering, but that was not to turn out to be my career, because in 1974 I went to work for Franklin's garage in Bishop Stortford and then moved on to Cambridge Road Garage in 1979 working on Alfa Romeo's. In 1985 my younger brother and I opened Martony Auto Services in Horsecroft Place, in The Pinnacles. I sold it in 2002 and after my marriage broke up in 2004, I moved to live in Thailand. I have been working as a Teacher of English in private and state run schools for the last 11 years. I am currently working at Uthenpattana School in Tha Uthen, Nakhon Phanom in the north-east of Thailand. One of the most poorest parts of Thailand as most of the population here are rice farmers, but the students are a pleasure to teach.
