Summer Holidays

A Memory of Harlow.

I can so clearly recall the school summer holidays back in the early 70's. The paddling pool was full of kids (myself included) having a great time, splashing and playing. And the grassy banks surrounding it were full of mums with picnic blankets, towels, juice and sandwiches.

I am sure that the progress (!) that demolished the nearby Swimming pool must have also taken this wonderful place away.

Just how I remember it as a little boy, and I remember everyone was so polite and looked after each other, like the lady who gave me a towel all those years ago when I had forgotten mine.
