Harold Hill In The 50s
A Memory of Harold Hill.
I went to the infant school then dycorts then harrowfields, , I remember going to school in the smog, we always had fog, snow, the milk cart was horse and cart, rag and bone the same, names like the tattems, ginger hinde, reynolds, ginger and myself went to the methodise church boys club, coach trip every year,we would go to the manor, fishing, football, sports day was there every year, half the school had run off through the woods before the end, love being on Harold hill as a kid, would not want to go back now. played darts at the conq, became capt, last people I see from the hill was peter pearson, ian cornell ,great times were had on the hill, ginger and myself did paper round selling the evening standard, then we left school and work for the paper. where are these people now, not good on the key board but enjoyed the reading, even ken sold the news paper.
