Memories Of Hartford
A Memory of Hartford.
I went to The Little School which was by the crossroads in Hartford. Part of The Grange School. Housed the kindergarten and the 1s. I was there 1964 - 1966. My teachers hers included Mrs Wood, Miss Hatton. The playground seemed huge n included a boggy area. Sports Day was held on the flat grass each year. Then I moved up to The Big School...and the new school hall was built by the side around 1969? I remember the huge beech tree too. The NSPCC Annual Rose Fete was held in the school grounds each year before moving in later years to Hartford Primary. There was also a climbing frame and the 3s were housed in a classroom outside. The other side of rhe school grounds were tennis courts n the shrubbery. I left the school in 1971. My maiden name was Barnes. Happy days they were n my favourite teachers included Miss Weston n Mrs Astill.
