A paddle-tug gives a helping hand to two fishing boats. The Tees Conservancy Commissioners were the last tug owners, apart from the Admiralty, to place an order for a paddle-tug. The 'John H Amos' was completed in 1931, having been ordered specifically to work with a recently-acquired floating crane. It was felt that only a paddle-tug could manoeuvre the crane in the confined waters of the Tees. The 'John H Amos' was withdrawn from service in 1967 and presented to the Dorman Museum, Middlesbrough.

Long Time Ago.

Born in Hardwick Hall Sedgefield During the war '42. Brought up in old West before Owton Manor est etc. Remember walking the streets during war with Mum after air raid sirens etc. and standing in queues with our ration coupons for food etc. With the cold creeping up my ankle bones and legs. Famous Family "Fields"

Does anyone remember any cosmetics or soap produced by the Fields. Does anyone have memories of the FIELDS FAMILY. Does anyone know any of the ROBSON Family of Hartlepool dated from 1870. Thankyou Deborah Peel (Farrow)

St Johns United Reformed Church

I was married at this church on 25th March 1978. My grandmother, Evelyn Sanderson also played the organ here, and at its sister church St Georges further up Park Rd. My grandfather's funeral service was also held here; George (Joe) Sanderson. It was a shame to see this church demolished for the shopping centre's car park!!!
