Almora And My Great Aunt Mim John Lockhart Usa
A Memory of Haugh of Urr.
In the early 60’s my brother and I would go and stay with my great aunt and uncle John in a stone cottage “Almora”he built in the Haugh The garden was beautiful filled with gooseberry strawberries flowers. My Grandad. Would take us fishing down to the Glen under the waterfall. We would walk all the way and come home at dusk with our trout that my great aunt Mim would cook for breakfast What a wonderful simple life. My aunt would read us a chapter of Treasure Island” at night from her armchair by a big roaring fire cup of hot chocolate and off to bed ❤️🏴
