More about this scene

Just along from the town hall is the old technical college building, an equally impressive structure. It was designed by H W Burchett and completed in 1937. The high ground on which this central part of the town is built gave Hendon its name, which derives from the Saxon and means 'high hill'.

I married a New Zealander and moved to NZ, I have been back a few times.

I went to Staglane Primary school and the Headmistress' name was Miss Palmer. My dad worked at DeHavilands as a toolmaker and was involved with the manufacture of Dehaviland aircraft motors. I was with my dad when he heard on his crystal set that the war had started ...see more
