Heptonstall, The Two Parish Churches c.1960

More about this scene
This view from Horsehold overlooks the wooded Calder Valley; it shows Heptonstall's two parish churches, one in the valley at Mytholm and the other on the hill above (centre background) in the actual hilltop village of Heptonstall. The view shows a typical West Yorkshire industrial landscape of mills; these ones were originally powered by the fast-flowing streams of Colden Clough.
