Ringo Starr

We have a friend Henryd Davies who was in hospital at the same tine as Ringo Starr. He contacted Sister Burtonshaw before she died. Her married name was Brenda Duffin and she lived in Warrington. He has such fond memories of her and was so thrilled to hear from him after such a long time.

I’m sat here with my mother who is now 86 talking about her time at Heswall. She nursed Ringo and the other children. She was Nurse McGrady (Nurse Mac) at the time and Ringo would not go to bed without a good night kiss from her if she was on duty. The memories on this site have brought lots of old names back to life.
