Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

Flower Street And Tay Lodge 1950's

A Memory of Higginshaw.

My grandad lived at 2 Flower Street and he saved a kid from drowning in Tay Lodge , for which he received a police commendation. He was called Wilson Birch and his daughter was my mum Violet Pollard who went to Higginshaw school as Violet Birch. Does anyone remember the huge stores of gas masks in the old mills, they were all unused. Graham Pollard. 30/04/16

I lived at 20 flower St 1950 till 1961 I to played at the Tay mill

Was Mr birch the same man to see when you saw if you had hurt yourself? Also I think he was the knocker upper

Hi Colin, yes my grandfather was a knockrtupprt and he did treat a lot of local people who had minor injuries

Hi I’m new on here. I lived on flower street number 13. Although I was only 3 when we left due to them being demolished I have some very good memories of my early years there. My mum and dad where Kathleen and Tony. However my mum was there with her previous husband jack taylor. My brother is Andrew and my sister is Gillian. I remember Nora Nelson and her sons Brian and Martin. I would love to see any photos if this street as I don’t have any. Also remember Roberts shop on the front. We left in 1973
