Guyscliffe Childrens Home

A Memory of High Barnet.

My mum and her 2 sisters were in this childrens home from approximately 1926-1936?
We have very little information on my mums time there as she was so ashamed of being a "Home Kid"
Does anyone have any memories, photos?
My mum was Claire Ann Parker, her sisters were Phylis and Rosemary.
Her brother Teddy was also in a childrens home but don't know which one.
Would love some info.
Thank you

My father and his two brothers were also in Guyscliffe from 1922-1933 so its possible that they knew Claire, Phylis and Rosemary Parker. They would never talk about their child hood and it was until a few days ago that I discovered what Children's home they were in. Would you know what school they may have attended at this time. Am also trying to source old photos of Guyscliffe
I lived in Barnet, and remember Guyscliffe, I was friendly with a girl there called Pauline, this was about 1954 ish. The schools they would have attended were probably Elizabeth Allen secondary school, or Queen Elizabeths Girls/Boys grammar school, or East Barnet grammar. There may have been another secondary school, I can’t remember, but Elizabeth Allen was the most likely. Hope this helps!
