District Maternity Home, High Wycombe

Hello
My dad was born in the District Maternity Home on 02 November 1939 and died in Apr this year. He was 'fostered' during the war and never knew where he came from. I have a copy of his birth certificate and we have tried a number of times to find out any information we can but have not had any luck.
I have an Ancestry account and have completed the DNA test with some potentials but given his birth certificate does not seem to be helping at all I am wondering if it is actually real.
Does anyone know how to help me or where I can find out some information?
