More about this scene
This photograph was taken from outside the former Guildhall. The porch of c1470 and the battlements have flint flushwork patterns. The unusual clerestory windows were created in the 15th century by altering earlier quatrefoil windows, which remain on the less fashionable north side. The chancel was rebuilt in the 1878 restoration.
