More about this scene
The great eastern face of Honister Crag dominates the Honister Pass between Borrowdale and Buttermere and Crummock Water, which can be seen in the distance. The Gatesgarthdale Beck flows through the valley. To the left can be seen the workings of the Honister Slate Quarry, which produced some of the finest-quality green slate roofing and walling.
