More about this scene
Many a traveller must have prayed for a street this clear when they were sitting in one of the notorious traffic jams from which Honiton suffered before the bypass was opened in 1966. Isaac's Globe Inn has had many incarnations: it was the Carpenters Arms, the Three Compasses, and Haig's Globe Inn. It closed as a pub in 1972, and is now a Quaker meeting house.
