A Memory of Hornchurch.

Looking back I don't think it was very modern at all. Walsh Pike Grey and some perv PT teacher delighted in whacking kids with sticks and slippers, loads went on to do well. Lots of boxing & football champs, marine commando Jeff Urand hero Falklands War, good memories.

I'm now 80 yrs young and used to live in Stanley rd from 1950 to 1961, went to Hylands School in Romford. came 3rd highest in school at leaving age. retired C.E.O of an International group of companies-just goes to show even if you didn't have a degree you can still succeed in life.Now living in New Zealand

PT teachers were often bullies in my experience at Abbs Cross Technical School from 1958 to 1965.
