Park Ave South, Hornsey

A Memory of Hornsey.

I lived at 78 Park Ave South, Hornsey from 1943 to 1959. I was 4yrs old when we moved in.
My first memory is wheeling my doll pram with my parents from Crouch End to our new apartment. We were two houses away from the narrow alleyway that led into the park behind the apartment.
I can't remember the infant or junior schools I went to but I eventually went to St Mary's in the High Street until I left school in 1954.
I remember the house was clipped by a German bomb one night during an air raid that landed in the park behind us .
My best friend at school was Sylvia Snowdon, same age as me, she lived with her family in an apartment near St Mary's Church, she eventually became a bridesmaid at my wedding but we lost track a few years later. She married a guy named Mick Cooper and had two sons is all I remember. Was wondering if anyone remembers us from St Marys around this time.
My mom and dad lived in Park Ave South until my dad passed away and my mum eventually moved to Muswell Hill.
When I was younger we used to walk up to Alexandra Palace to play on the grass, what great memories, wish I could remember more but it seems they grow dimmer with each passing year.
