More about this scene
This photograph could well be a study in oils, but the church of St Lawrence, standing next to the canal, is said to be large and uninspired. It was designed and built by Pinch of Bath in 1816 and has a Bath stone exterior. Standing alone alongside the Kennet and Avon canal, this church is the main place of worship for the parish.
