The bridge over the River Avon at Ibsley, with its white water weir, wildfowl and waterside scenery, is a good place to halt if you are following that lovely river up from the sea. Napoleonic prisoners-of-war planted an avenue of elm trees here, which survived until the devastation of 20th-century road widening.

Frances (nee Lochhead) and Barry Howe married on the 14th December 1963 and their wedding reception was held at the "Old Beams", so this year is very special being their Golden anniversary". Prior to getting married, Frances lived with her family at "Darvole", Harbridge Green and worked on the Hants and Dorset Buses from Ringwood as a Conductress.
