Pinehurst In The Late 1940s And Early 1950s
A Memory of Ilfracombe.
The Pinehurst Boarding House in Ilfracombe on Chambercombe Park Road was our holiday destination when I was very young for a number of years. I always looked forward to these with great excitement. It looks as if it is now a care home, can anyone confirm for me that it is the same house. I remember a tall red brick building up a steep hill but not much more. The owners, Chris and Erkie, were close friends of my parents so we probably had a good deal and would otherwise not have been able to enjoy holidays by the seaside. I know Chris and Erkie had no children but wonder if they had nieces or nephews who will remember them. I would love to hear from them. I would also like to share memories with anyone else who stayed there. Our family name was Williams.
